While students were performing greetings, Wen Chao from Qishan Wen Sect along with Wen Ning and Wen Qing arrived at Gusu Lan Sect. A misunderstanding is caused. Luckily, no one was hurt. After that, Wei Wuxian met with Wen Ning.

Wei Wuxian gets punished for a mistake he made in the class. After a few days, Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng go together with Lan Sect to Caiyi Village to a solve water spirit problem.

Because of Wei Wuxian and Jin Zixuan's fight, the engagement between Jin Zixuan and Jiang Yanli was called off.

Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli left Gusu Lan Sect together with Yunmeng Jiang's Sect's leader as a result of Wei Wuxian's fight with Jin Zixuan. But Wei Wuxian didn't go home. He left a note and then goes and finds Lan Wangji. Then two of them go on a journey to find the rest of Silver Metals. Meanwhile, Wen Chao finds another piece of Silver Metal.

The three heroes sleep within the cave of the Dancing Goddess, but during the night she comes alive and they fight her off. Shortly after an army of ghost puppets arrive at the cave. Wen Qing works together with them to save the people.

Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng meet with Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan. Then they take the person responsible to what happened to Yueyang Cheng Sect who was captured by Xiao XIngchen and Song Lan to Qinghe Nie Sect. There, they learned that they have to go to Qishan Wen Sect to learn some manners. After a few days, Wen Chao from Qishan Wen Sect attacks Qinghe Nie Sect.

Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng go back home. Meanwhile, Gusu Lan Sect was attacked by Wen Xu from Qishan Wen Sect. After a few days, Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng left home and go to Qishan Wen Sect. There, they find out Lan Wangji is also there.

When they are at Qishan Wen Sect, because of Wen Chao, Wei Wuxian already has to face a lot of troubles. Thankfully, Wen Ning is quietly helping him. At the same time, Wei Wuxian learns Gusu Lan Sect has been destroyed by Qishan Wen Sect.

Wen Chao takes them to hunt beast which is in the Tu Lu Xuan Wu cave. A lot of things happened in there which leads to Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji have to spend some time in the cave.

After sleeping in the cave, Wei Ying and Lan Zahn come up with a plan to fight the elemental beast and gather arrows, rope and whatever they can find. Wen Zhao is instructed to find Xue Yang and the last piece of Yin metal.

A leader from a small clan arrives wounded at Lotus Pier. Wuxian and Cheng are left in charge while their father and sister look for a safer place to heal the clansman. In their absence Wang Lingjiao provokes Madam Yu into battle.

With the help of Wen Ning, Wei Wuxian successfully rescues Jiang Cheng. To avoid from finding out, Wen Ning takes them to Yilin which they have occupied. When staying there, Wei Wuxian finds out the worst thing happened to Jiang Cheng. In order to save depressed Jiang Cheng, Wei Wuxian tries to find a solution. Later, he finds a way to get Jiang Cheng back on the track.

While staying at Wen Qing's, Wei Wuxian discovered Song Lan who lost consciousness in the middle of nowhere. He brings back Song Lan and asks Wen Qing to cure him. When Song Lan's better, Wei Wuxian asks him to take Jiang Yanli to Lanling Jin Sect. As for Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng, Wei Wuxian comes up with a big plan to get Jiang Cheng normal again.

While Jiang Cheng is going under the process of repairing the golden core, Wei Wuxian has been captured by Wen Chao. Then Wei Wuxian's been missing for three months. Meanwhile, Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng try to find out whereabouts of Wei Wuxian.

When Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng join hands to fight Qishan Wen Sect, they find a lot of people from Wen Sect by an unknown person. By the time they get to the place where Wen Chao and Wen Zhuliu are staying for the night, they find out who is responsible for what they saw in these days.

With the comeback of Wei Wuxian, Yumeng Jiang Sect gets an extra on his side in the battle with Qishan Wen Sect. Meanwhile, Wei Wuxian has to fight his own demon himself.

When Wei Wuxian takes the control of Wen Ruohan's zombie things, Wen Ruohan comes out to find who takes over. When he sees Wei Wuxian, he tries to kill him. But someone who he didn't think would do it kills him. With the death of Wen Ruohan, the battle finally finished. When Wen family falls, they celebrate a feast in Wen Sect.

After the feast, Jin Guangshan tracks down the traces of the last silver metal. Meanwhile Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng get back to Lotus Cove and start a new chapter. And as for Lan Wangji, he tries to find a way to help Wei Wuxian.

Although Lan Wangji wants to stop Wei Wuxian, but he couldn't. Then Wei Wuxian takes the rest of Wen family he saved to Yilin Graveyard. Because of the trouble Wei Wuxian caused, Jiang Cheng has to go to Wei Wuxian and talks some sense to him.

Jiang Cheng comes to Wei Wuxian and convinces him to do the right thing. But Wei Wuxian doesn't want give up the rest of Wen family he saved. So, he challenges Jiang Cheng. The next day, Jiang Cheng tells the world that Wei Wuxian betrayed Yumeng Jiang Sect. Meanwhile, Jin Zixuan tries to win Jiang Yanli.

Lan Wangji comes to Yilin to meet with Wei Wuxian. During they are talking, some problem happens in Yilin Graveyard. Wei Wuxian must go back there. Lan Wangji also comes along with Wei Wuxian. When they get there, they find some problem caused by recently awaken Wen Ning. Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji solve that problem.

Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli comes to Yilin to meet with Wei Wuxian. Meanwhile, Lanling Jin Sect is preparing for the big wedding.

Jin Zixuan invites Wei Wuxian to come to Jin Ling's birthday. While Wei Wuxian's preparing present for Jin Ling, Jin Zixun comes and gives Wei Wuxian troubles.
