Guido dismisses the employees and says goodbye to the restaurant. Bruna drinks too much, runs over Soró, and Ciro takes the blame. Ciro and Soró go to Bruna's house. Bruna and Julio get engaged.

Julio feels insecure about his relationship with Bruna. Ciro and Soró go to meet Luísa and are humiliated by Bruna. Guido asks his family to keep his bankruptcy a secret.

Luisa gets jobs for Ciro and Soro. Guido and his family move. Nina and Daniel think about each other. Ciro invites Soro to live with him. Bruna finds out about Ciro's new job.

Bruna and Julio are bothered by Ciro's presence at home and at the company. Nina goes to the pool with Franco and looks for Daniel. Ciro observes a young woman from afar.

Bruna warns Julio about Ciro's work and mentions Mamma Vitória's fondness for him. Daniel thinks about Nina and goes to her house. Soró tells Ciro that Bruna asked about him.

Flustered, Ciro congratulates Bruna on her upcoming marriage to Júlio. Shortly after, while alone with Bruna, Mamma Vitória warns her not to toy with Júlio's feelings, asserting that in their family, engagements and marriages have always been taken seriously. Ciro kisses Bruna passionately in the country house garden; Soró and Geninho watch them from a distance. Gema asks Bruna to try to encourage Luísa to get out of the house and find a boyfriend. There is more to the story: Mamma Vitória and Guido are favorably impressed by Ciro's suggestions for improving workflow at the "cantina" offices. Duda is surprised when Daniel tells her he is available to talk.

Franco interrupts the conversation between Duda and Daniel, claiming he has something urgent to discuss with him; once alone with Daniel, however, he tells him to avoid talking to Duda because she is close friends with Nina. Benito ends up waking Gigio by playing a sound-effects LP at high volume on the record player. Mamma Vitória insists that Ciro attend the family lunch the following day. Altino remarks to Mizi that he is unsure whether Júlio’s love for Bruna is reciprocated. Mamma Vitória asks Guido for his opinion on Ciro, and he tells her he considers him a very ambitious but upright young man. Bruna reminds Júlio that his presence would not be welcome at the lunch with Mamma Vitória, since he is not yet part of the family.

Ciro returns to the mysterious mansion and, forcing his way in, demands that the maid answer a few questions. He leaves the mansion dejected after the maid tells him that the young woman he asked about—who is paralyzed and uses a wheelchair—keeps asking for him, even though she knows he is *persona non grata* in the house. Duda takes Nina along to the gated community so she can meet the caretaker's son. Gema assures Mizi that Luísa and Bruna have never gotten along as well as sisters as they do now. In the country house garden, Luísa mentions to Ciro that Bruna has also come for the family lunch proposed by Mamma Vitória.

Soró convinces Geninho to release his pet bird from its cage; happy, they watch the bird fly away into the country house garden. Duda asks Nina to suggest that Daniel introduce her to the caretaker's son, but Nina encourages her to take the initiative and introduce herself in person. Guido grants Gigio's request and lends him his car. Irritated, Júlio asks Bruna how her day with Ciro went. Júlio accuses Bruna of cheating on him, having learned that Ciro was present at the family lunch organized by Mamma Vitória.

Bruna surprises her fiancé by telling him that his grandmother summoned him, intending to appoint him as the newest member of the restaurant chain's board of directors. Gigio is pulled over by the police while driving Guido's pickup truck; since he lacks the vehicle's documents, the officers suspect he stole it and take him into custody. Franco promises Daniel he will keep him away from Duda so she doesn't find out he is Nina's boyfriend and inadvertently reveal to her friend that he is the son of the building's caretaker. Júlio and Mamma Vitória spot Bruna and Ciro together, smiling, just as they arrive at the country estate.

Bruna apologizes to Júlio, explaining that she is accompanied by Ciro because he had notified her that she needed to go to the police station to give a statement regarding the car crash she caused; irritated by Bruna’s duplicity, Ciro leaves the country house, remarking that she is already “very well advised” by Ciro. Later, at the office, Júlio begins emptying his drawers and, in a fit of irritation, orders his secretary out of the room. Shortly thereafter, Júlio surprises Luísa by saying that, with his resignation, there is one less obstacle in Ciro’s path to managing the chain of eateries; he adds, however, that if she wants to win Ciro over, she will have to compete with Bruna for him.

Soró moves Bruna by expressing his gratitude to her and her family for the help they have given him since she first met him at the scene of a traffic accident. Franco tries to prevent an unexpected encounter between Daniel, Nina, and Bruna at the apartment complex. In the canteen offices, Ciro attempts to reconcile with Júlio but grabs him by the collar when Júlio refuses to pay him any heed. Guido and Benito intervene in the argument between Ciro and Júlio; Ciro, seeking to make peace, extends his hand to Júlio, but the latter rejects the apology and leaves the company. Júlio’s secretary mentions to Ciro that Júlio had also argued with Bruna, noting that she left the room in tears after the dispute.

He steps aside with Duda so Daniel can meet with Nina. Alone with his cousin, Daniel tells her she will soon learn the secret surrounding the caretaker’s son. Bruna warns Luiza not to go to the dinner she had arranged with Ciro for that evening.

Luiza catches Bruna off guard by stating, in Gemma's presence, that Júlio told her Ciro and Bruna are in love. Bruna, however, turns the tables by claiming that the discord between her and her fiancé stems from the way Luiza shields Ciro. Nina lies to Daniel, telling him that her parents haven't bought her a car yet because they are old-fashioned and don't trust women behind the wheel. Bruna worries Gemma by telling her that Ciro is a very dangerous man. Daniel gets into an argument with Fernando at the apartment complex when the young man complains about the delay in the return of his motorcycle, which Gaspar's son had borrowed. Joana advises Nina to tell Daniel the truth about her financial situation as soon as possible. After dinner, Ciro takes Luiza to a deserted beach and invites her to have champagne with him.

Ciro drinks too much and calls Luísa "Bruna." Julio decides to travel to São Paulo. Geninho discovers Soró's greatest wish and tells Mamma Vitória.

Mamma Vitória lets Bruna participate in the lunch, gives her the jewelry again and invites Julio to return to work in the canteens. Daniel and Gaspar try to get a loan.

Bruna tells Julio that she is confused and that she can't marry him like that. Julio argues with his father because of Bruna. Soró's family arrives in Rio de Janeiro.

Soró gets emotional upon reuniting with his family. Ciro takes Soró and his family home and gives them shelter. Daniel goes to Nina's house and asks to speak with her mother.

Joana talks to Daniel, and Nina finds out. Daniel leaves, furious. Ciro finds Julio in his office, and they argue. Altino and Julio make peace.

Joana tells Nina that she didn't tell Daniel the truth, but Nina is still worried. Soró's family goes to church and gets lost. Ciro invites Luísa to dinner.

Júlio gives up on waiting for Bruna. Bruna gives Ciro the price of the car and Mauro's card. Ciro drives off in Bruna's car and is surprised to find Júlio inside.

Ciro kicks Julio out of the car. Julio arrives home drunk and argues with his parents. Ciro takes Mariana shopping for clothes and then takes her to the office. Franco is jealous of Duda.

Ciro manages to get Mariana a job at the office. Gigio secretly prepares the cafeteria report. Duda asks Milica for help to talk to Daniel.

Daniel tells Duda that he has a girlfriend and that they can't study together. Bruna asks Julio not to hire Soró's sister as a secretary in the cafeterias.

Julio interviews Mariana and approves her hiring, to Bruna's fury. Ciro gets Gigio's report on the cafeterias. Nina and Duda look for Daniel.

Franco finds Nina and Duda and takes them to his house. Nizí and Altino decide to ask friends in the apartment complex for help in finding out what is going on at Bruna's house. Ciro reads Giggio's report. Luísa tells Ciro about Bruna's suspicions regarding him. Bruna complains to Mamma Vitória about Mariana being hired, but the older woman doesn't fall for her granddaughter's game. Bruna is furious at her grandmother's attitude. Mamma Vitória asks Benito about Mariana and sends for Soró. Mamma Vitória asks Soró to bring Mariana to her house.

Soró tells the family that Mamma Vitória wants to see Mariana, and Donana decides to go along. Ciro cancels dinner with Luísa because of Gigio, and she is disappointed.

Luísa cries over Ciro. Nina finds out how much money her mother has in her savings account and is disappointed. Guido fears that Giggo will take his place in the business.

Lála and Regina take a walk on the beach. Ciro tells Júlio that Bruna is jealous of him and Mariana. Donana thanks Mamma Vitória, leaving her moved.

Donana tells Mamma Vitória not to worry about Mariana. Franco hints to Duda that he is interested in her. Ciro and Luísa are surprised by Gigio's report.

Donana catches Gigio with Lála. Loreta takes issue with the closeness between Duda and Franco. Ciro goes out with Luísa to buy furniture for his living room. Bruna feels jealous of Mariana.

Bruna insults Mariana and badmouths her to Mamma Vitória. Luísa and Ciro arrive at Mamma Vitória's house and confront Bruna. Nizi and Altino cause another scene.

Ciro asks Mariana if there is anything going on between her and Júlio. Daniel pressures Nina to secure the sponsorship. Guido accuses Franco of being interested in Duda.

Franco comforts Duda, who is crying because Daniel refused to study with her and treated her badly. Gema is concerned when she catches the two of them hugging in the bedroom. Júlio invites Mariana to dinner.

Persuaded by Júlio, Mariana finally accepts his dinner invitation. Gema mentions to Bruna that Duda ran away from home—with Mamma Vitória’s help—to come study with Franco. Loreta advises Joana to remarry after Joana admits she misses having a partner to share her joys and sorrows. Júlio surprises Luísa by saying he decided to go out with Marlene because she is a “beautiful and interesting” girl, not to make Bruna jealous. There is more to the story: Franco takes Duda back home, and Mamma Vitória shields them from Loreta’s scolding by asking to speak with them in private. Luísa tells Bruna that Júlio is going out to dinner with Mariana that night.

Pretending to be hurt by Júlio's behavior, Bruna plays the victim in front of her mother, by drawing her attention to the boy's interest in Mariana; Alone with Gema, however, Luísa tells her that it is Bruna who snubs Júlio, and that he has every right to choose another girlfriend. Bruna goes to Júlio's apartment, in his absence, and complains to Altino and Mizi that her fiance has been running away from her; After leaving, Altino tells Mizi that, in his opinion, Bruna lied to them. Mamma Vitória asks her daughter-in-law, and her grandchildren Benito and Duda not to bother Guido, because he has been very nervous, and could have a stroke or a heart attack. Donana blames Ciro for letting Mariana go out with Júlio, and demands that he bring her daughter back immediately.

Ciro tells Donana he won't go after Mariana and Júlio, as he has already done what he could by advising the young woman not to go out with him. Bruna goes to Ciro's house and makes things awkward for Donana while looking for her daughter, Mariana, who has gone out with Bruna's fiancé. Alone with Bruna, Ciro ends up hurting her feelings by saying that the only thing he feels for her is pity; Bruna then leaves, vowing to make him hate her one day. Upon returning home, Mariana is punished by Donana, who demands that she kneel and express remorse for having disobeyed her. Encouraged by his parents—who tell him that Bruna had come to the house looking to make amends—Júlio decides to go see her. The next day, at the company office, Júlio is taken aback when Bruna definitively breaks off their engagement and returns the ring.

Julio weeps over the end of his engagement, and Luísa comforts him. Soró asks Ciro for help depositing his money in the bank. Daniel pressures Nina for the money. Duda pays Franco a visit.

Nizi and Altino look for Bruna. Gigio comes up with an advertising idea and makes a deal with Ciro. Mamma Vitória discovers she cannot give a share of her business to Guido.

Joana is worried about Nina's behavior. Donana allows Gigio to take Lála to the forró party. Mamma Vitória finds out what is troubling Guido and takes action.
