DRAGON PILOT: Hisone and Masotan

Hisone Amakasu enlists in the Air Self-Defense Force, where an encounter with a dragon concealed inside a hangar alters her career path forever.

After her successful test run flying the dragon, Hisone is asked by flight suit developer Hiroki Ikushima to review prototype suits.

Promoted to technical sergeant, Hisone undergoes fighter pilot training with the F-15J unit. The Gifu Air Base prepares for its annual air show.

Joined by pilots and their dragons from other military bases, Hisone participates in a joint training exercise held at the Gifu Air Base.

Sent to a remote island for a field training exercise, the dragon pilots are given a week to escape back to Gifu Air Base using any method they can.

While Hisone, Liliko and Mayumi await their scheduled extraction from the remote island, El is determined to leave before their time is up.

Fearing that romantic relationships may become a distraction, Iiboshi orders the airbase staff to assess the relationship potential of each pilot.

As Iiboshi reveals the true mission behind the dragon pilot program, a former pilot from long ago appears before the Gifu Air Base flight crew.

With the mission date nearing, the dragon pilots are sent on a test run. One of the shrine maidens questions Hisone's relationship with Okonogi.

A ceremony is held to select which shrine maiden will lead the ritual. Zaito is ordered to make a difficult decision for the sake of El's career.

While Hisone follows through with her career decision, the remaining dragon pilots accompany Okonogi and the shrine maidens on their joint mission.

As the mission proceeds under the watchful eye of the command center, Hinomoto reflects upon the events that transpired during the previous ritual.
